1950s
The business focused on grain and feedstuff trading between East Anglia and London's Mark Lane agricultural market.
1960s
Family members began blending solid fertilisers near Great Yarmouth, using imported raw materials from Holland alongside domestic materials.
1970s
The business expanded into Scotland and pioneered bulk delivery and fertiliser spreading with Big A floatation spreaders imported from Kansas.
1980s
Mechanically lifted big bags helped replace the demanding work of handling traditional 50kg fertiliser bags.
1990s
The team developed GPS-driven Variable Rate Technology using satellite imagery. In 1996, the Bunn business received a Royal Warrant for supplying fertiliser to Sandringham Estate.
2000s
After the Bunn business was sold in 2011, Brineflow was established to focus on liquid fertiliser production and offshore chemicals.
2010s
Nitrasol invested in new terminal infrastructure at Great Yarmouth, strengthening supply capacity for UK agriculture.
2020s
In 2021, Nitrasol opened a new deep water terminal in Sunderland, expanding national supply capability from Scotland to the South Coast.
